HR 2454 - Cap and Trade

HR 2454 Cap and Trade (American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009) Recently Passed the US House and is likely to pass the US Senate.  HR 2454 will create a new type of property, allowing companies to purchase carbon rights to pollute, regulated by the Federal Government.  In essence the Federal Government will set a cap on CO2 emissions for each industry, if a business in the industry can not keep to that cap they may purchase emissions from another business or industry.  In theory this makes sense, force businesses to reduce their CO2 emissions by requiring a cap and forcing the businesses to cut production by trade, then lower the emissions and let the system work.  In THEORY!  Now the truth is not as bright.  I managed to read the first few pages of the 1300 PAGE legislation which has not been read, and in fact was amended as it was introduced to the floor.  {Read HR 2454}

For too long we have allowed our legislators to pass legislation with nice titles but in fact the nicer the title the more corruption in deed.  We need to stop Cap and Trade now in the Senate and send it back to the House.
